The Matrix - As An Alternative To Drugs

The Matrix could be thought of as an alternative to drugs, because the movie is closely related to the drug world in much of its terminology and construct.

We'll begin with the name Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams, but which is also the basis of the word Morphine, which is a crystalline form of opium.
Morpheus offers Neo (whom gives in to peer pressure), a pill to show him "how deep the rabbit hole goes."
The quote "how deep the rabbit hole goes" is in reference to Alice In Wonderland. It has been said that the writer of Alice In Wonderland, Lewis Carroll, was a heavy drug user.
At the beginning of the movie, Neo is seen giving a friend something illegal in nature and Neo tells that friend that if he gets caught using it, that Neo doesn't want any fingers being pointed at him.
When Neo is finally in the real world, he is given the option of shooting up programs such as jujitsu, and his reaction is of one who has just experienced a burst of pleasure from a powerful drug, and his reaction is much like an addict wanting more.
Of course, when a person is under the influence of a drug substance, the person is in a state where he or she feels that anything is possible, and is left feeling as if he/she was even capable of flying. Now within the Matrix movies, we find Neo, quite often flying. Who knows, maybe he has taken the drug he sold to his friend at the beginning of the movie, and is flying like his friend said of the drug Neo sold to him, "It's the only way to fly."
Aside from the movies, taking drugs is like being in a matrix, and although the real world may not seem as glamorous at times, it is still where we really want to be.
In the second movie, we have a scenario much like what is referred to as a bad trip (bad trip is a term for a person who is suffering from disturbing visions and feelings after taking a hallucinogenic drug), where the whole of it all is much like a nightmare from which a person can not wake up from, where that person begins to see a Matrix within a Matrix within a Matrix and the real world begins to look much like the world from which the escapee had gone to and the intertwining of the two becomes increasingly hard to decipher due to the instability of the mind that has gone there one too many times.

-The next time someone tries to offer you drugs, don’t just say no, tell them you’ve already seen the Matrix. -

As the Internet grows, the world shrinks. - In other words, "Its A Small World After All"

I'd love to write something deep and meaningful here or talk about something that would stimulate the masses to want to continuously check my bloggs to the point that I would be invited as a guest to talk shows and become famous enough for publishers to want me and see that I could be the next great thing - the next Stephen King or JRR Tolkien or Dan Brown. But - this is just another blogg - nothing special
